ERP Software stands for Enterprise Resource Planning and is an information system designed to coordinate the resources, information and processes within an organization. It is comprised of a common database that provides interfaces and information to every department within the business. MRP – Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) or Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP II) -- is a predecessor to ERP and is a production planning, scheduling, and inventory control system used to manage manufacturing processes.
