What is Business Intelligence (BI)?

Business Intelligence (BI), generally speaking, describes the evaluation and processing of raw data to produce meaningful reports and identify key business development figures—and trends. In the past large data sets were manually collected from diverse sources and processed into a report using table calculation programs. And not just once, but many times over for each separate department. Countless work hours were spent creating reports that were often outdated by the time they were completed. Today's ERP solutions have BI modules. They enable dynamic report generation and provide end users the precise data they need, when they need it.
