abas USA is partnered with Hypertherm®, which offers a CAD/CAM software product line that includes a nesting software called ProNest for industrial cutting. ProNest delivers advanced programming capabilities for mechanized cutting with plasma, laser, waterjet, and oxyfuel processes. A primary function of ProNest is to optimize material utilization. This is performed by automating placement of part geometries from the part list to within the material work area (metal sheet, granite slab, etc), using a variety of complex algorithms. Using ProNest can help you minimize wasted space, increase material savings, improve part quality, increase productivity, and lower operating costs.
Integration with abas ERP
ProNest integrates with abas ERP and automates round-trip data exchange, including part and material information related to work orders that incorporate cutting. When abas encounters parts that require cutting, it sends part requirements and available material inventory to ProNest. ProNest then completes the automatic nesting process and returns actual nested part and material (consumed and required) information back to abas. abas ERP will then automatically perform a completion confirmation about the task. If cutting was the last or only step of the work order, then the completion confirmation will lead to a closing of the work order. This automated process helps to eliminate manual or redundant tasks that exist in a workflow, as well as improving the tracking and management of those tasks to result in faster turnover.
