We are happy to celebrate a very special occasion for one of our dedicated employees — the 10th year employment anniversary for Céline Finet, project manager for abas-France based in our Villeurbanne office close to Lyon. Céline joined Softpro on 2nd of November 2004, which later become abas- France. Being at the same company for ten years, one might see a lot of change and become quite expert in their field so we asked Céline what her perspective has been.
Q: Tell us what you do at abas:
A: During my first years at abas, I worked as a programmer for existing customers. Then, as my knowledge in abas-ERP increased, I started to work as a consultant on both French and international projects. I am now a project manager and also responsible for the customer support hotline department of abas-France.
Q: 10 years is a long time to be at one company! What advice do you have for new graduates looking for a good company to join?
A: I am aware that it is now more complicated to find “the right place at the right company.” I was lucky to find this job at abas immediately after I graduated. The year I started, I immediately had the opportunity to work on an interesting project. My advice to new graduates is to keep in mind that it is easier to be flexible when you are young. Don’t hesitate to travel, if needed and be available to work as needed.
Q: What tips do you have for abas employees for staying highly motivated in their position?
A: It is important to keep in mind that the success of a company depends on its employees. Isn’t it a good motivation to know that your company and the “abas family” needs you in order to have satisfied customers and to achieve new goals? This is what motivates me!
Q: Thinking back over your ten years at abas, can you share a project that you feel has been your biggest achievement or contribution at abas?
A: While I am working on international projects of all sizes, I consider my biggest contribution to be with our customer CGR who is currently using abas-ERP in France and will soon implement abas ERP at CGR locations in six different countries.
Q: How do you think abas has changed over the past ten years?
A: I have to congratulate abas headquarters for all the work that has been done for international partners from a development point of view, but also the relationship we have built with them. We now work closely with lots of abas-ERP partners around the world. Much work has also been done on the software ergonomics, such as navigation, user interface, tools for screen and printouts. We were all very happy when we used the graphical screen editor for the first time! It simplified things quite a bit. Now we can not imagine working without this tool anymore. A lot of technical and functional improvements have been made on the product for the past ten years and abas continues to be very attentive to a partner’s suggestions in this domain.
Q: What do you hope to see for abas in the next ten years?
A: I would like see abas become a household name when talking about the best ERP software for mid-size businesses around the world.
