With the new year in full swing, now is the perfect time to make sure you’re up to speed with the evolving technology industry. One of the best ways to do this is by taking full advantage of your ERP and what it has to offer. Going paperless with your processes will keep your production rates high, increase efficiency and ensure you won’t fall behind in a fast-paced environment.
Going paperless in accounting
Accounting is an area of your business where managing and storing data electronically is crucial to your company’s organization and efficiency. An easy way of going paperless with your accounting processes is downloading our Document Management System (DMS). abas has a third party integration with Habel, who provides a DMS that can be used to track, store and manage documents so you can reduce your use of paper. Automating the saving and storage of data not only reduces the need for paper, but also improves efficiency.

Another tip for going paperless with your accounting processes is automating electronic invoicing. This is a customization you can integrate with your email server where you can create an invoice that is automatically sent to a customer when you input their contact information. abas ERP also has interfaces for credit card ACH payments, which gives the customer the option to allow abas to automatically debit their account for payment.
Going paperless on the shop floor
In addition to your accounting processes, going paperless on your shop floor is crucial to increasing efficiency and production. Mobile integration is a seamless way to achieve this with abas ERP.
abas offers a variety of mobile apps that you can integrate with your software for more efficient processes. A few that can help you take your business paperless are the Inventory Management and TCI apps. The Inventory Management app gives you the ability to confirm and modify inventory in separate locations. With this app you can streamline inventory processes and access inventory data on an iOS device. The app also lists all of the locations that have stock for a particular part a user is looking for, and can transfer parts from one location to the next. With the TCI app, you can view tasks and process you have to complete for each job from your mobile device. You can also log the amount of work you’ve completed, create print outs of work orders, and record you attendance and hours spent on each of your jobs.
If you haven’t had a chance yet to implement our mobile apps, you can still go paperless with abas if you have a device that can access a Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) software. With an RDP connection, you can get into the abas software through a compatible wireless device.
One of our newest developments that will be available this year is the web GUI, which will make going paperless even easier in abas. The Web GUI is an interface that will give you access to abas using a web browser with device-aware page designs that can resize based on your phone, tablet or monitor screen.
