About American Vending Sales

American Vending Sales, Inc., was founded in Chicago in 1971 with a focus on vending machines. In the 1980s, they expanded into the market for jukeboxes and amusements, then saw a period of rapid growth starting around 2012 when they entered the video lottery market. Today, AVS is the preeminent full-service gaming, amusement and vending distributor in the Midwest. The company offers a complete range of services to their customers and the manufacturers they represent.

After careful evaluation of numerous wholesale distribution-focused software systems, American Vending Sales chose abas Business Software because it was the most feature-rich and affordable solution for our needs. We were particularly impressed by the system’s underlying architecture, and its ability to run on a single Linux server, rather than other systems’ 2 server requirements. The list of positive features is too lengthy to mention here. Suffice to say that, for us, the choice was obvious.

- Jeff Yoder, General Manager American Vending Sales, Inc.

Project highlights

After careful evaluation of several wholesale distribution-focused software systems, American Vending Sales decided to partner with abas USA because the software was feature-rich and an affordable solution for their particular needs. The abas solution chosen by AVS was also more effective because it enabled AVS to rely upon one server, instead of the two servers required for other systems. In the end, choosing abas enabled AVS to work smarter and share data across its geographically-distributed business operations.

As they grow and adapt to their business needs, the company is actively working with abas to further improve operational efficiencies throughout the enterprise, including the use of new modules within abas ERP that they plan to take advantage of. With a firm enterprise foundation in place, AVS can continue to focus on its core business of distribution while relying on their ERP partnership to improve systems and increase operational efficiencies.
