Audi and the complete Volkswagen Group have established a new logistics concept in the past years - NLK (new logistics concept). All processes have been streamlined, and the production processes have been synchronized with the logistics processes. The aim of the new concept is to improve supply processes between the vendors and the automotive group. The new supply and production processes must also be represented in the EDI message flow. As this cannot yet be fully represented by the current VDA4905 Standard, there are several important changes resulting from NLK which must be taken into account when implementing an EDI solution.
The most important changes at a glance:
- In the case of incoming messages, the delivery schedule preview is used for the rough scheduling and the pick-up sheet is used for the APS. Forecast and JIT delivery schedules previously implemented become obsolete.
- In the case of outgoing messages, amended VW packing slips are used. Shipping documents, and transport and shipment documents (TSB) are used as pick-up sheets (PUS) according to VDA4939 when using the Global Transport Label (GTL). EDI goods receipt/issue slip (VDA 4912), DIN packing slips (VDA 4994) and Odette Transport Label (VDA 4902) are no longer required.
In our webinar you will find out in detail what the changes mean for your EDI solution and how you can adjust your EDI message flow to the new NLK requirements.
