Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Ashburn, VA - Remote

Job Description
The Technical SME has advanced understanding of the ABAS proprietary 4GL language called Flexible Object Programming (FOP) with the ability design, develop, and deploy custom functionality to the ABAS ERP system. Consultants may also use Java/Groovy code to design and develop ABAS functionality. The Technical SME will perform programming and technical work for customers during their ERP implementation and while on support. Technical SME will also provide additional support internally to provide guidance and quality assurance.
The Technical SME will have an understanding and capability of providing support for the technical design, implementation, and support of an electronic data interchange (EDI) for the abas-erp EDI package.
The Technical SME has experience and understanding of supply chain in a manufacturing and distribution environment.
Experience
- Experience in multiple programming languages: Java, Groovy, Shell Script
- Valued experience in other languages: C, C++, Microsoft .NET, etc.
- Experience with relational or object-oriented databases including by not limited to MySQL, Oracle
- Experience with manufacturing and distribution supply chain
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Baan, Epicor, MS Axapta, MS Navision, Deltek)
- Experience with Report writing software (Jasper, Crystal)
- Experience in EDI projects
- Experience working in a team setting with consultants to define specifications, document the solution, and execute the solution.
Job Requirements
- 4-year degree in computer science or related experience
- A minimum of 10 years’ work experience as an EDI/ERP consultant
- Experience speaking with and developing specifications with customers
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal
- Understanding of manufacturing practices and methodologies a plus
- Minimal travel
